QUALITY ASSURANCE
 The consumer has no knowledge of USDA grade standards so it
is important to Farm Fresh Direct to evaluate quality from the
perspective of the consumer. The
consumer does not evaluate a defect based on what percentage of the potato
must be cut away to remove it, but rather on whether a defect is present and
on how many potatoes with defects are in a package they have purchased. The
modern consumer also is concerned with food safety and consistent quality associated
with the Farm Fresh Direct label.
With this in mind, Farm Fresh Direct has
implemented a set of Standard Sanitary Operating Procedures
that are followed and monitored from the ground, before
the potato is planted, to the conveyance on which the final product is transported.
Every grower and each warehouse is expected to adhere to these strict standards
and provide required documentation at each step of the production process,
which are administrated by our full-time Quality Assurance Manager. |
