Purple Majesty potatoes were developed by Farm Fresh Direct, LLC, a group of third and fourth-generation potato growers in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. Using classical breeding techniques, The Purple Majesty is a cross between a white-fleshed cold chipper and an All Blue potato. The result is a uniformly purple potato with low reducing sugars and intense purple pigments. They are 100% natural and ARE NOT GENETICALLY MODIFIED.
How do Purple Majesty potatoes taste? How do I prepare/serve them?
Purple Majesty potatoes have a buttery flavor and creamy texture, and may be baked, microwaved, roasted, oven-fried, put in salads and more. They’re similar in size to a red or “new” potato. As with all fresh potatoes, store in a dark, cool area, preferably at 45°F. Do not refrigerate. Always wash thoroughly to remove dirt, being careful not to break the skin.
